Troubleshooting

Messaging Registration

Messaging registration is the first place to check when SMS or MMS cannot send, is filtered, or is not ready for launch.

Before you begin

  • Complete business profile, brand registration, and campaign setup.
  • Use policy URLs and opt-in language that match the real customer experience.
  • Avoid broad SMS outreach while registration is pending or rejected.

Where to find it

Open Phone -> Trust Hub to review business profile, brand, and campaign status. Open Messages to test sending only after registration is ready.

Step-by-step

  1. Check Business Profile status.
  2. Check Brand Registration status.
  3. Check Campaign Registration status.
  4. Read any rejection or failed-state details shown in Trust Hub.
  5. Fix the specific issue, such as legal mismatch, missing policy, weak consent flow, or unrealistic sample messages.
  6. Retest messaging after status updates.

What happens next

  • Provider and carrier review can take a few business days and can vary.
  • Approved registration improves deliverability but does not guarantee delivery of every message.
  • Content, consent, links, recipient behavior, and carrier policies still affect filtering.

Best practices

  • Prepare A2P details before porting a number that will depend on text messaging.
  • Keep campaign use case and live message content aligned.
  • Use real opt-in language and screenshots or examples where the registration process asks for them.

Troubleshooting

  • If texts fail immediately, check whether campaign status is pending, rejected, failed, or unsubmitted.
  • If only some messages fail, inspect content and links.
  • If registration status is unclear, refresh Trust Hub and wait for reconciliation.
