Call flows
Ring Users
Ring Users nodes send callers to teammates. They can use the inbox default ring order or custom groups configured directly on the node.
Before you begin
- Add teammates to the inbox first.
- Decide whether the flow should reuse default ring groups or use a custom order.
- Confirm users have working app, mobile, SIP, or phone dial methods.
Where to find it
Open the call-flow builder, add a Ring Users node, and configure it in the node settings panel.
Step-by-step
- Add or select the Ring Users node.
- Choose Use default ring order if the inbox default groups should apply.
- For custom routing, add ring groups and users directly on the node.
- Choose timeouts such as 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 60, 90, or 120 seconds from the provided options.
- Connect the no-answer branch to voicemail, forwarding, another ring step, or another fallback.
- Save and publish the flow.
What happens next
- Custom groups are stored on the node.
- Default mode follows the inbox default ring order.
- If nobody answers, routing continues to the next connected branch.
Best practices
- Use default ring order when most flows should share the same team coverage.
- Use custom groups for special menus, VIP routing, or after-hours escalation.
- Avoid ringing too many users at once unless the caller experience requires it.
Troubleshooting
- If saving fails, configure at least one user group or turn on default ring order.
- If the wrong people ring, check whether the node is using default or custom groups.
- If callers wait too long, shorten timeouts or reduce group count.
