Inboxes
Default Ring Groups
Default ring groups define the normal order for reaching teammates in an inbox. They are also reusable by Ring Users nodes in the call-flow builder.
Before you begin
- Add the right inbox members first.
- Know which users should ring first, second, and as fallback.
- Decide which dial methods should be enabled for each person.
Where to find it
Open Phone -> Inboxes, choose an inbox, then configure Default Ring Groups. The call-flow builder can use this same default ring order.
Step-by-step
- Create the first ring group and add users.
- Choose whether each user rings by client app, SIP/deskphone, or both where available.
- Set the timeout for the group.
- Add additional groups for escalation.
- Watch the dial-leg count. Default ring groups enforce a maximum of 10 dial legs per group.
- Save changes and test an inbound call.
What happens next
- Waveline tries the configured groups in order when a call flow uses the inbox default ring order.
- Each enabled dial method can count as a dial leg.
- If nobody answers, the call flow continues to the next connected step.
Best practices
- Start with a small first group so calls do not ring the entire company.
- Use escalation groups for backups or managers.
- Use longer timeouts only when the caller experience still feels quick.
Troubleshooting
- If you hit the dial-leg limit, remove users, disable extra dial methods, or split users across groups.
- If calls skip a person, check availability and enabled dial methods.
- If calls time out too fast, increase group timeout or simplify the flow.
