Call flows
Send Message
Send Message nodes text the caller from the call flow, which is useful for missed-call follow-up, after-hours instructions, or sending a link after a menu choice.
Before you begin
- Use a messaging-capable inbox number.
- Complete messaging registration before relying on automated customer texts.
- Write a short message that matches the registered campaign use case.
Where to find it
Open the call-flow builder and add a Send Message node.
Step-by-step
- Add the Send Message node.
- Enter the message text.
- Connect the call-flow branch that should trigger the text.
- Connect the next call branch if the call should continue afterward.
- Save the draft.
- Publish the flow and place a test call from a phone that can receive texts.
What happens next
- The node sends SMS to the caller using the configured text.
- Carrier filtering can still apply if registration or content is not compliant.
- The text should appear in the related conversation if the provider accepts it.
Best practices
- Use this for helpful follow-up, not unsolicited promotion.
- Include business identity when the caller may not recognize the number.
- Avoid short links and content that differs from the registered campaign.
Troubleshooting
- If saving fails, enter message text.
- If the SMS does not arrive, check campaign status and recipient number support.
- If callers get duplicate texts, check whether multiple branches trigger Send Message.
