Contacts
Contacts Overview
Contacts give calls and messages names, phone numbers, emails, and notes so teammates can recognize people and follow up with context.
Before you begin
- Use contacts for customers, vendors, and repeat callers.
- Decide who can create or edit contacts through role permissions.
- Keep phone numbers formatted cleanly so caller matching works.
Where to find it
Go to Phone -> Contacts. The list supports search, sorting, pagination, Add Contact, and quick actions to view, call, or message a contact.
Step-by-step
- Open Phone -> Contacts.
- Search by name, email, or phone number.
- Select a contact to view actions.
- Choose View to open the contact detail page.
- Choose Call or Message when you need to follow up.
- Use Add Contact to create a new contact with name, phone, email, and notes.
What happens next
- Contact names can appear in calls, messages, and search results.
- Notes are stored on the contact detail page for team context.
- Mobile caches contacts for quick lookup and caller identification.
Best practices
- Create contacts for important callers before launch.
- Keep notes factual and useful for the next teammate.
- Clean duplicate contacts when the same phone number appears under several names.
Troubleshooting
- If a caller name does not appear, check the contact phone number formatting.
- If Add Contact is disabled, check phone.contacts.write permission.
- If search misses a contact, try phone digits instead of name.
