Inboxes
Inbox Members
Inbox members are the teammates who can work a shared inbox, receive calls through its ring groups, and participate in conversations tied to that inbox.
Before you begin
- Invite the teammate and confirm they accepted the Waveline invite.
- Give the teammate a role with the permissions they need.
- Install and test the apps before routing real calls to them.
Where to find it
Open Phone -> Inboxes, choose the inbox, then use the members section to add or remove teammates.
Step-by-step
- Open the inbox settings page.
- Add team members who should work the inbox.
- Confirm each member has the expected web/mobile and SIP/deskphone dial methods.
- Place the member in default ring groups if they should answer inbound calls.
- Set or confirm their availability and default inbox if needed.
- Remove members who should no longer see or answer the inbox.
What happens next
- Membership controls access to the inbox context, while ring groups control live call order.
- Existing members of an archived inbox may keep read-only access to preserved history.
- Permissions can still limit whether a member can edit settings.
Best practices
- Add new members before putting them in first-ring groups.
- Review membership whenever someone changes teams.
- Use roles to separate everyday users from admins who can change routing.
Troubleshooting
- If a member cannot see the inbox, check membership and role permissions.
- If a member can see the inbox but does not ring, check default ring groups and dial methods.
- If a former teammate still has access, remove them from the inbox and review their role.
