Getting started
Invite Your Team
Invite team members so each person can use Waveline as their work phone and, when needed, participate in shared inboxes with the right role.
Before you begin
- Create at least one role that matches the access level new teammates need.
- Collect teammate email addresses and optional direct phone details before sending invites.
- Decide which team members need only a personal work line and which shared inboxes each person should join.
Where to find it
Go to the Team area to invite one team member or use the bulk invite dialog. Roles are managed from Team -> Roles.
Step-by-step
- Open the Team area.
- Choose the invite option for one person or the bulk invite option for multiple people.
- Enter each email address and choose the role for that teammate.
- Send the invite and ask the teammate to accept it from their email.
- After they join, confirm their personal inbox and add them to any shared inboxes they should answer.
- Confirm their default inbox, availability, and device setup before routing live calls to them.
What happens next
- Invited users appear in the team area and can use personal or shared inboxes based on permissions.
- A role controls what a user can view or change, while inbox ownership and membership control where they can answer calls and messages.
- The teammate should install the mobile app if Waveline will replace a secondary work phone or if they need calls on the go.
Best practices
- Invite people with the least access they need, then expand permissions if their job changes.
- Add new teammates to ring groups only after they have tested microphone, notifications, and availability.
- Use personal inboxes for individual work numbers and shared inboxes for team coverage.
Troubleshooting
- If a teammate cannot accept an invite, resend it and confirm the email address.
- If a teammate cannot see a page, check their role permissions.
- If a teammate does not receive calls, check inbox membership and ring group settings.
