CSV Export
CSV export downloads call data for spreadsheet analysis, reporting, audits, or sharing with teams that do not work directly in Waveline.
Video to add
Record exporting a CSV with default columns, then show adding Call SID and including outbound calls.
Before you begin
- Choose the correct date range and inbox filter first.
- Decide whether outbound calls should be included.
- Choose only the columns you need.
Where to find it
Go to Phone -> Analytics and choose Export CSV.
Step-by-step
- Set the analytics date range.
- Choose the inbox filter.
- Open Export CSV.
- Choose whether to include outbound calls.
- Select columns such as Date, Time, Direction, Your Number, Number Label, External Number, External Caller Name, Duration seconds, Duration formatted, Status, and Call SID.
- Export the file. Waveline downloads the CSV when calls are found for the selected filters.
What happens next
- Call SID is available as an optional column and is off by default.
- If no columns are selected, export is blocked.
- If no calls match the filters, Waveline shows an error instead of an empty useful report.
Best practices
- Use Call SID only when support, auditing, or provider investigation requires it.
- Export the same column set each time if you feed reports into another tool.
- Store exports according to your internal data-retention policy.
Troubleshooting
- If export fails, check that at least one column is selected.
- If the file is empty or missing calls, widen the date range or include outbound calls.
- If names are missing, update contacts and number labels.
