Messaging
MMS and Media
Use media attachments when a text conversation needs images, documents, screenshots, or other context that is easier to show than describe.
Before you begin
- Use an inbox number that supports messaging.
- Confirm the recipient has consented to receive messages from your business.
- Keep files relevant and professional.
Where to find it
Open a conversation in Messages and use the attachment control in the message composer. Mobile also supports picking media or documents from the device.
Step-by-step
- Open the conversation or start a new message.
- Choose the attachment option in the composer.
- Select the image, media file, or document supported by the app.
- Wait for the preview or upload state to finish.
- Add message text that explains the attachment.
- Send the message and check the thread for delivery or upload errors.
What happens next
- Attachments are sent through the messaging provider and may be subject to carrier size and content rules.
- Large files can take longer to upload and deliver.
- Unsupported file types may be rejected before sending.
Best practices
- Send the smallest useful file rather than a very large original.
- Avoid confidential attachments unless your business policy allows texting that information.
- Add plain-language context so the recipient knows why the file was sent.
Troubleshooting
- If upload fails, try a smaller file or a common image/document format.
- If the recipient does not receive media, try a text-only follow-up and review registration status.
- If the composer freezes, reopen the conversation and retry the attachment.
